2) Introduction of Lycopene 5%
Lycopene 5% is kind of natural pigment with bright red color, found in tomato, watermelon, red grapefruit, Chinese guava, balsam pear etc. It is powerful antioxidant and has many biological activities, can strengthen immune function.
Lycopene 5% is not an essential nutrient for humans, but is commonly found in the diet, mainly from dishes prepared from tomatoes. When absorbed from the intestine, lycopene is transported in the blood by various lipoproteins and accumulates in primarily the blood, adipose, skin, liver, adrenal glands, prostate and testes, but can be found in most tissues.

5) Preparation of Lycopene 5%:
Generally, natural plant tomato (Lycoper - sicon solanaceae lanaceae) are mixed with beta-carotene, using benzene containing 1% ethanol dissolve and disperse. If the petroleum ether solution, can be made from magnesium oxide adsorption. Also can use oil extraction.
6) Uses and Functions:
Lycopene 5% is an open-chain unsaturated carotenoid that imparts red colour to tomatoes, guava, rosehip, watermelon and pink grapefruit. It may restrain and reduce the occurring rate of prostate cancer, womb cervical cancer, pancreatic cancer and vesica demonstrated that lycopene is the strongest carotinoid for neutralizing free-radicals. In the body, lycopene is deposited in the liver, lungs, prostate gland, colon and skin. Its concentration in body tissues tends to be higher than all other carotenoids.
Lycopene 5%, a powerful antioxidant abundant in red tomatoes and processed tomato products, may help prevent prostate cancer and some other forms of cancer, heart disease, and other serious diseases.
Ongoing preliminary research suggests that lycopene is associated with reduced risk of macular degenerative disease, serum lipid oxidation and cancers of the lung, bladder, cervix and skin.
Studies are underway to investigate other potential benefits of lycopene - including the H.J. Heinz Company sponsored research at the University of Toronto and at the American Health Foundation. These studies will focus on lycopene's possible role in the fight against cancers of the digestive tract, breast and prostate cancer.
